A Celebration of German Culture and Cuisine

Okto­ber­fest is the world’s largest and most famous beer fes­ti­val and trav­el­ling fun­fair, orig­i­nat­ing from Munich, Ger­many in 1810. Since then, it has become a glob­al phe­nom­e­non, attract­ing mil­lions of vis­i­tors every year to enjoy live music, tra­di­tion­al Bavar­i­an del­i­ca­cies, and of course, plen­ty of beer.

In 2021, Shang­hai host­ed its own ver­sion of Okto­ber­fest, orga­nized by Ger­man Events, a lead­ing mar­ket­ing agency that spe­cial­izes in pro­mot­ing Ger­man cul­ture and busi­ness in Chi­na. The event took place from Octo­ber 10 to Octo­ber 19 at the Hol­i­day Inn Shanghai.

Outstanding Success

The event was a huge suc­cess, attract­ing more than 10,000 vis­i­tors over the course of 10 days. It was also a great oppor­tu­ni­ty for Ger­man Events to show­case their exper­tise and net­work with poten­tial spon­sors and part­ners for future projects. The event received pos­i­tive feed­back from both the guests and the media, who praised the qual­i­ty of the food, the ser­vice, and the atmosphere.

What made Oktoberfest Shanghai 2022 unique?

Okto­ber­fest Shang­hai 2022 was not just anoth­er beer fes­ti­val. It was a cul­tur­al expe­ri­ence that brought togeth­er the best of Ger­many and Chi­na. Here are some of the fea­tures that made it stand out from oth­er events:

A band from the original Oktoberfest in Munich

The event fea­tured a band from the orig­i­nal Okto­ber­fest in Munich, who enter­tained the guests with live­ly tunes and inter­ac­tive games. The band played a mix of tra­di­tion­al Ger­man folk songs, mod­ern pop hits, and Chi­nese clas­sics, cre­at­ing a fes­tive and mul­ti­cul­tur­al atmosphere.

A free flow of Paulaner Festbier

The guests enjoyed a free flow of Paulan­er Fes­t­bier, a spe­cial beer brewed exclu­sive­ly for the occa­sion. Paulan­er Fes­t­bier is a gold­en lager with a malty aro­ma and a smooth fin­ish. It is slight­ly stronger than reg­u­lar Paulan­er beer, mak­ing it per­fect for celebrating.

A variety of dishes

The guests also enjoyed a vari­ety of dish­es, such as roast pork knuck­le, sausages, pret­zels, sauer­kraut, and apple strudel. These dish­es are typ­i­cal of Bavar­i­an cui­sine, which is known for its hearty and sat­is­fy­ing fla­vors. The dish­es were pre­pared by the chefs of Paulan­er Bräuhaus Shang­hai, who used fresh ingre­di­ents and authen­tic recipes.

A souvenir mug

Every guest received a sou­venir mug as a token of appre­ci­a­tion from Ger­man Events. The mug was designed with the logo of Okto­ber­fest Shang­hai 2022 and the slo­gan “Prost! Cheers! Gan­bei!” The mug could be used to refill beer dur­ing the event or to take home as a souvenir.
